Bovine Colostrum – A Natural Supplement With Many Benefits
Using bovine colostrum as a supplement for horses of all ages can provide many physiological benefits. Rich in valuable ingredients (natural immune, growth and antimicrobial factors), the development of the immune system, growth and the formation of various cell types and tissues and local protection against pathogens can be promoted in the intestine.
Recommended Application
For foals
Administer 32 ml orally after the first colostrum intake.
For very weak foals, the dose should be repeated within 24 hours.
For adult horses:
Administer 32 ml to horses with a weak immune system or as support around vaccination, deworming, change of feed, or for symptoms of mild intestinal diseases. Repeat as necessary.

Foals are born without a functioning immune system. However, the immune status is of great importance, as a deficient immunity can lead to a 63 times higher mortality risk within the first 6 weeks of life. Since the placental structure of horses prevents a prenatal exchange of immunoglobulins, it is essential to ensure a sufficient supply of colostrum for the foal. Unfortunately, the important process of monitoring the colostrum quality or intake is rarely done in horses.
